Our society has witnessed an increased number of citizens being diagnosed with any variety and severity of spectrum disorders. As of late, there have been very few learning tools/areas that are specific to catering to those spectrum disorders. Although inclusion in the mainstream classroom has been proven to be beneficial for these particular students, the need for more tactile stimulation is needed to help these students progress.

The difficulty for any school system is the lack of time and research in the newest technology and innovations for sensory stimulation as well as therapeutic elements that will benefit spectrum students as well as student with significant/severe disabilities.

Your Task: You must draw upon your research of the newest innovations and ideas in order to formulate a proposal for the re-design/construction
of a sensory room in 323

Essential Question: What elements/technology and environment will best support the learning and progression of spectrum disorder students, as well as benefiting other severe disabilities?
